I downloaded program but don't know where it was downloaded to.
This is due to not creating a new directory to download the program into. To locate the file you have downloaded open up the File Manager in the Main directory in Windows Program Manager. When you are in File Manager, click on File at the top left side of your screen and drag down to Search. Type in men.exe at the Search For prompt and press OK. This will locate the directory the file is in. When you find the file make sure that it is in a directory by itself. If you find the file in a directory with other files you will need to create a new directory.
To create a new directory click on File at the top left of the File Manager and double click on Create Directory. You can now create a new directory with whatever name you want (It is best to name it something you will remember, like vmen). After you have created the new directory move the men.exe file by clicking on the men.exe file and dragging it over to the new directory. You will now be able to inflate the men.exe file by double clicking on it in your new directory.
I expanded men.exe but can't see the new files
If you have double clicked on the vrmen.exe file and the inflation process occured but you cannot see any of the new files in the directory you will have to hit the F5 key in the directory that the vrmen.exe file was in. This will refresh your screen and you will be able to see the files.
What should I change my settings to
The settings do not need to be changed. When you register the software fill out the form completely. After filling out the registration form the program will set the modem and its preferences to what is correct.
Do I need a tv driver
There is no need for you to have a tv driver. Everything you need to get connected is in the program itself.
I keep getting disconnected when I call in
If you keep getting disconnected when you try and log in there are a few reasons this may be happening.
- All the information on the sign in sheet may not be correct.
- Our computers may be experiencing technical difficulties.
- The version of the program you are using could be an outdated version.
- Your modem might not have error correction.
The line is busy when I try to call in
From time to time the line may be busy. Some reasons are:
- All of our models are in shows.
- We are experiencing technical difficulties.
We are currently working on increasing the number of studios we have open.
Do you have access for Mac users
Unfortunately we do not have access for Macintosh users, but we are working on being able to provide the service.
What is a ram drive and how do I disable it
A ram drive is a small amount of hard drive space intended to make the Virtual Men teleconferencing program run faster. To do this a partition needs to be put in your hard drive. The program does this automatically when you run the setup program. The ram drive has to be the drive right after your master drive (usually drive D). If you have a CD-ROM it will automatically be put to the next higher drive, (usually drive E).
If you have trouble accessing your CD-ROM or any other drive because of the ram drive you will need to add the word "rem" with a space in front of the line "device=C:\dos\ramdrive.sys 256 /e" in your config.sys. Doing this will disable the ram drive after you have rebooted your computer.
To locate your config.sys and rem the line you will need to open up the Accessories directory in Windows Program Manager. Next open up the Notepad. After opening up Notepad click on File at the top left of the screen and drag down to Open. Double click on "c" in the file tree and type in config.sys under "File Name". Go down to the line "device=C:\dos\ramdrive.sys 256 /e" and add the line rem in front of it. Save your changes and then reboot your computer and the ram drive will be removed.
